Activities: Competitions

One of the ways our members can gain recognition for their efforts during ECA is to be part of the Competition team. Annually in the period from September to October, 10 Sec 2 cadets will be chosen to take part in the Zone 7 First-Aid Competition. As the Ambulance Adult and Ambulance Cadet teams (4 members, 1 reserve for each team), they will take on the best teams from Zone 7, and if successful as champion of this zone, they will then move on to the National First-Aid Competition and go for gold.

The competition teams go through tougher training schedules than their non-competition counterparts. Besides having to train for 3-4 afternoons each week, they have to be especially well-versed in footdrill, short case, long case as well as TOC. The pressure is great, and most of the time we have not failed to deliver (see Achievements).
